simple objects can be great subjects
that is what i have discovered about photography...simple objects can be look good if taken in a good angle...objects that are very colorful are very eye catching...i am not saying that my picture here is great but it just went inside my mind how photography could really say something without the use of words...how it exudes emotion and how it gives reaction to the people looking at the picture.... i was also thinking one time when i was walking, when you are into photography, sometimes your world is already confined to that dimension of the viewfinder...what you see with your eyes is different when you try to look at it with the camera...you are now creating a different world...trying to say something, trying to tell somebody that this object that i am taking is great when looked at this angle...trying to share a secret to the others what the subject is conceiling...i heard someone comment how photography could lie or say the truth...i agree with him...

it was very tiring having to be exposed to a very hostile environment, hostile in a sense that the place was so hot, i was wishing that it would rain and i could bathe... :)
but in the end it was still good...

project8----(sorry pam, wala pa kaani when we took this group photo...but nonetheless, you are still ka level namo...:) it all started three people talking about photography and graphic designs...and sa kadugay sa talk, an idea sprout...what if photography and graphic designs will be combined to make a group who could do this things...it was just for passion, i guess it was just mere coincidence that everyone of us that is part of this team are classmates...but i guess it also bonded us because we understood each other...it was just like a barkada thing, making a name of a barkada...just doing stuffs that we are confident that we could really do good...i don't know why it became a big deal for some people, but this group are just freelance artists who wants to enjoy their passion...after getting a warning from the chairperson of Devcom, it was just easy for us to say that we have to lilo first to give way to our studies and everybody agreed, but issues just sprang out...issues we don't even know..people began to comment how unprofessional we are, sometimes people are just hard to make them understand,...1 rule of being a journalist: get both sides of the story...dont just judge immediately...

ga-jym-ka-mer
one my favorite pictures i have taken so far. a picture of a person that tells a lot...my subject's name is Jymer and he is part of our group in my research subject..we are really in hard times lately as our study is going through a lot of revisions that we are already losing precious time, and the deadline is fast approaching. this picture was taken when in our DC13 class and the teacher just assigned to make a radio forum...all of us was so slumped to hear that we will have another project to do aside from all the projects that our teachers gave us...i suddenly looked at jymer and this was how he reacted...a picture of pure agony i could say...hehehehe...and headache...everyone had nothing to say that time but just sit and reschedule all our time allotted for all the projects so that we could also consider the time for our radio forum. recently, some of my classmates are already getting sick because of stress, even i had my share of getting sick, getting migraines and fever. to fight all of this, i am bringing always with me pads of mefenemic acid and paracetamol...and a lot of 3 in 1 sachets to keep myself awake...

miss cagayan 2007 the witty takes home the bacon
i guess this would be the first miss cagayan event where-in everybody really talked about it...the event was nicely advertised that everyone knew about it...the past miss cagayan events was not that great compared this year's event...i could say that majority of the people were already sure that Natasha Mills will win the event, but she became "kumpyansa" to her answers that the judges were not impressed with her...wit is still greater than beauty, and i agree with the judges.. i was hoping to take their pictures closer so that i could give great picutres for my photography class, hoping i could position right in front of the stage, but there was this guy who told me that there were already official photographers and i was forbidden to go closer...i know i could go there, i know how a press photographers mind work, but i was not into the event really...it tired me, i was not that "atat" to who will be the winner...so i just retreated and stopped taking pictures of the event...( im not sour graping im just not into beauty pageants too boring for me )...a concert of bamboo or local bands with people jumping up and down from the mosh pit will be more interesting...

telephoneman
dustin, onat and i were just walking when we spotted this person repairing the telephon lines just outside Xavier gate...it was timing as we were bringing with us our cameras that we just started clicking away, making this man as our subject...at first he was shy, smiling at us because he was amused why we were taking his pictures, and the drivers of the motorelas were already teasing him to also smile and they were also asking us that we should also take their pictures..but as time passed by, the "telephoneman" just resumed his job as if we were not there...that was then we again took pictures of him...what i like about this picture is the contrasting colors of the sky and the man's shirt and his surroundings.

TO FILM OR NOT TO FILM
it has been an issue to many photographers regarding the use of film or to use the digital cameras..."purist" photographers say that enhancing the photos using the photo enhancing programs in the computer is a major sin on photography. there has been a lot of discrimation among photographers who stick to film cameras and photographers who use the digital ones. the only thing i could say is that, art has no boundaries...if one chooses to enchance his/her photograph to make it more dramatic and emotional then leave him/her alone. and if you don't like his/her artwork, then proceed to the next artwork...just the same with the issued regarding digital art and traditional art...i agree to a famous photographer who really gives time in enhancing or manipulates his photographs cause he points out that people will really comment on your photos..and there will be a lot of them who will dislike your artwork but he says that leave to this people alone and never let there comments change what you like to do for your art...that famous photographer is now well paid by Nikon and Canon to use their products...

photography virgin
One of the interesting classes I have for this semester would be my photography class. I was sad before that I couldn’t get this class last year because my schedule has a conflict with other subject if I were to get this subject. All of it changed when I got this subject this semester. A of things happened this year, and I could really say that I learned a lot of new things about photography aside from the ones some of my friends taught me. I have friends who are great photographers who shared to me how interesting photography is. In the past, I like photography but not that interested much after I took this class. I already learned how to take pictures since I joined The Crusader Publication and discovered the different ways of composition. The class was very challenging and fun at the same time. Our lab exercises were really like a contest, each one challenges him/her self to take the best picture of a subject. The exercises that I couldn’t forget would be the ones where each one of us is given only 1-2 hours to roam around the campus or outside campus and after that allotted time; we have to pass the pictures we have taken. It was like a war zone, everyone armed with their digital cameras or SLRs went out in a frenzy trying to find good subjects. Everyone fighting to be the first one to take the picture of a subject. the exercise really taught us how important to study first the subject and imagine how to compose the photograph before taking the picture.
